About Me

Hello there! My name is Sean, pronounced “Shawn” and spelt “see-ann.” I am an avid board gamer, trapped in a second shift job, trying to create as many board game groups as possible. Speaking of which, are you free at midnight on a weekday? Do you live near Southeastern Minnesota? Do you wanna hang with an adult male who has multiple swords and no chill? If yes, then fucking join a group of mine you twat!

Though I am like many other gamers, nerds, and trivia-seeking commoners out there, I do have one trait that overwhelms my very existence and makes me, from what I can tell, unique. I love – and I mean LOVE – teaching games. I absolutely adore stepping on to that minefield of testy competitors, uninterested partners that showed up for game night, randos that only love Monopoly, and battered survivors of families that scream during Bananagrams.

If I find out that you are one of these people, in my home on a game night, I will make it my personal mission to help you, aid you, comfort you, and trick you into loving this hobby. There is no rational reason why we gamers are as obsessed as we are. But we ARE obsessed and, more importantly, we are happy. And I will spread this joy as best I can.

Other than that, I love films. Horror and drama to be specific. I love snowboarding and skiing. Not into trees to be specific. I love tubing a river, working out to music, writing short stories, celebrating birthdays, and talking philosophy. All while drinking booze to be specific.

I want friends, I want a drink, and I want a shared goal that all of us are trying to achieve more effectively than the rest. I am a gamer. A board gamer to be specific. I want you to be my friend, I want you at my table, and I want to kick your ass, all while sharing a drink and laughing ourselves into a stupor. I am the Board Game Jester, and I take no prisoners. And I expect the same from you.
